The new CountyCat now allows you to email, print or save records that you have
placed in your cart.
To export, email or save records, search the catalog and mark your items
you wish to place in your cart using the "SAVE" checkbox to the left of
each title. Once finished, you click on Save Selected Items. You
can also choose to save all items displayed on the page by clicking on
the Save All Items button. Any of these actions will cause two
buttons to appear above: View My Cart and Empty
My Cart.
Please note that the items within your CountyCat cart will be emptied
as soon as you close your browser or after thirty minutes of inactivity.
- View My Cart. This button will allow you to view
your cart to either request items or choose a method to output them
from the system (email, print or save).
- Empty My Cart. This button will empty your cart.
Items in your cart are only saved for 20 minutes or the duration of
your browser session.
The next step is to look over and verify the titles you would like to email, print
or save to your local computer. Click on View My Cart and
then Email, Print or Save Records to display these titles:
A screen will then display with the list of your records at the bottom.

Above your list are displayed two columns. Under Format Of List you can
select one of the following:
- Full Display. This will display the entire
contents of the record(s), including information regarding any items attached.
- Brief Display. This choice will only display the author, title and publication
information for the record(s) in your list.
- MARC Display. This selection will display the record in MARC format including all
tags and subfields.
On the right hand side under Send List To, you can select any of these options:
- Email. The system will generate an email to the account you specify in the Mail to line when you select Submit; you can also include a Subject. The content of the email will vary based on your selection in the Format Of List column.
- Screen (Print). When choosing this option, the system will create a new web page and concatenate (or connect) the records in your list on one web page. From here you can use your own printer from your browser's file menu to print off the page.
- Local Disk. With this selection, CountyCat gives you the choice whether to save your records to a local drive as a text file on your home computer or open the text file immediately. You can choose which program to view the text file (the default is Notepad for Windows but varies by operating system).

When you have selected the format and method that you want, click on the Submit button.
In addition, you can also choose to remove selected records from your list by marking the checkboxes next
to each one and clicking the Remove Marked Records from This List button.
